“CareMan” project internationalizes Social and Health Care Leadership and Management Education

The project aims to develop a joint degree between five  master’s degree programmes

Currently, Social and Healthcare Services are predominantly delivered on a national basis by public, private and third party sectors and the care delivered varies considerably in terms of cost and quality.
Unpredictable economies, the ageing population, diverse clients  and a complex workforce  require health and social care managers to adopt new approaches to organizational design and developments; to  enable them to respond effectively to new ways of working and operating in social and healthcare.  Integrative processes of social and healthcare are emerging all over Europe and an innovative managerial approach is required to achieve optimal quality of care.  To achieve this  future and current managerial staff need to be prepared effectively by academics.

The project aims to develop a joint degree between five  master’s degree programmes

The CareMan project will develop and pilot a 30 ECTS Joint Post Graduate Modules that focus on social and healthcare leadership and management.  The aim of this programme is to prepare individuals to effectively manage an integrated health and social care service.  The programme will encompass three main issues: Cultural and value-driven leadership, quality of care, and quality management. CareMan is being coordinated by Lahti UAS, Faculty of Social and Health care and the other consortium partners come from HAMK UAS (FI), Edinburgh Napier (UK), Charles University (CZ) and Évora University (PT).   CareMan is funded with the support of the Lifelong Learning Programme (LP) of the European Union.  The duration of the project is three years.   in http://www.lamk.fi/english/news/Sivut/Erasmus-LLP-project-%E2%80%9CCareMan%E2%80%9D-internationalizes--Social-and-Health-Care-Leadership-and-Management-Education.aspx
